Americas Resin Supply Chain Manager

PPG is currently hiring for a seasoned executive leader to join our Industrial Segment team as the Americas Resin Supply Chain Manager. This position is responsible for leading and executing Americas (North & South America) resin supply chain strategies primarily for the Coatings businesses.  The Manager will work with the 6 Resin facilities, including Springdale, Circleville, Delaware, Oak Creek, San Juan Del Rio (Mexico), and Sumare (Brazil), and the 6 SBUs to develop strategies and tactics for the Americas Resin with the respective SBUs and Corporate Strategies. The Manager will work through the matrix organization of each BUs and Corporate entities and can be involved in Cross Region subjects at the initiative of the Global Resin Supply Chain Director.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Lead Resin BSR (business strategy report) information creation process in alignment with the SBU resin strategies by working  with SC & Technical Organizations to capture demand, trend (product life cycle), new product development and capacity planning for the BSR period of 5 years.
  • Drive Resins S&OP in coordination with different SBUs to optimize total PPG service and cost while balancing available capacity for all PPG businesses.
  • Drive inventory optimization of both raw material and finished good across all resin plants. Facilitate any resin raw material pre-buy activity with procurement and finance along with other stakeholders.
  • Work with the global and regional cross-functional teams in executing the resin rationalization strategy, also in make/buy decisions.
  • Own local planning process in conjunction with SBUs demand for manufactured resins at all manufacturing locations, purchased resins from both associates and external suppliers through the implementation of monthly demand review and PSO process.
  • Initiate production transfers in coordination with Americas Resin Technical and Operations Teams to assure service and reduce total PPG cost.
  • Develop quick cost transfer scenarios in coordination with finance and IT.
  • Manage any potential Resin SC crisis across all PPG businesses.
  • BS/BA in Operations, Supply Chain, Logistics, Engineering or related field.
  • APICS certification is highly desirable but can be attained while in this role.
  • An understanding of supply chain systems along with 5 or more years’ experience in Resin and/or Ecoat or Chemical Operations.

Success Factors/Functional Competencies:

  • A high proficiency for advanced analytics and statistical evaluation.
  • An understanding of financial tools.
  • Proven track record of managing projects and driving change using data analytics.
  • Proven self-motivated driver to bring initiatives to closure.
  • Highly developed written and oral communication skills and comfortable giving presentations.
  • Candidate should have a strong bent for action and an ability to create and implement action plans to drive performance improvement.
  • Candidate must demonstrate a high degree of attention to detail and managing complexity.
  • Candidate will need to work collaboratively with all business units and corporate functions.
  • Candidate will must have flexibility to for international travel- up to 25% (Mexico, US, Brazil)
