As a Controls Engineer, you will work in a plant environment supporting and leading projects that involve chemical process control and instrumentation, including design and implementation of instrument and control projects. These projects include estimation, preparation of capital funding requests, spending management, preparation of bidding documents, specifying and procuring equipment, issuing work permits, coordinating construction and company workers. You are also involved in the maintenance of the control systems for eleven resin reactors and other control systems! Are you self-motivated in making corrections to systems and seeking new technologies and improvement proposals?

Key Responsibilities

  • Performs sophisticated assignments often requiring development of new or improved products, processes, or techniques, and may assess the feasibility and soundness of proposed engineering tests, products, and equipment.
  • Coordinates planning, organization, and engineering projects with constraints of specific objectives, budgets and target dates.
  • Plan and schedule work, ensuring that all specifications and schedules are known and met. Work will be done supporting and assisting other specialists engaged in similar or different engineering subject areas.
  • Program programmable logic controls, variable frequency drives, motor controls, smart instruments, Ethernet communications, and other instruments connected with PLC and DCS controls of the facility. 


  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, preferably Electrical Engineering or Chemical Engineering.
  • Two (2) or more years of engineering experience, preferably in resin or chemical manufacturing. In addition, some experience in developing capital budget requests and project management desired.
  • Proficient in Microsoft products and AutoCAD, and read and develop P&IDs and loop (I/O) diagrams for process control documentation. Programming Programmable Login Controller and Human Machine Interfaces.
