As a member of the Supply Chain and Demand Planning team, you will be responsible for analyzing historical data and identify current trends to build and present the unconstrained demand forecast to cross functional teams: Finance, Sales, Supply Chain, and Operations.  Your role will play an imperative piece of the Supply Chain business as your analysis and findings will have a direct impact on shipment forecasting.  


The Demand Planner position is responsible for all forecasting activities associated with customers and products.  Leveraging forecasting software, the position creates and maintains statistical models for their customers, incorporating business intelligence and a collaborative effort with Sales, Marketing, Finance, and other sources. The Demand Planner is accountable for the demand portion of the monthly S&OP process. This involves compiling regional forecast and gaining formal business alignment to the Demand Plan.

 

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and facilitate monthly cross-functional demand forecast meetings with Sales, Finance, Supply Chain, and Operations by analyzing historical demand and current trends with focus on reaching consensus on the final forecast.
  • Prepare forecast reporting and demand planning metrics for monthly S&OP meetings.
  • Provide analysis and follow through for business improvements related, but not limited to, shipping, inventory, sku efficiency, systems, and processes.
  • Partner with Supply Planning to understand the supply/demand match and collaborate with the business unit on action plans.
  • Review historical sales trends, research demand drivers, prepare forecast data, develop statistical forecast models, and evaluate forecast results.
  • Interact with Sales, Marketing, Finance, Supply Chain, and Operations to develop a consensus forecast across categories and customers.
  • Develop complete analysis/timeline related to supply and demand for new product launches, products being phased out, and products transferring production facilities.
  • Develop aggregate level forecast to align cross-functional planning across the business unit.
  • Use and maintain Oracle Demantra
  • Provide input to the Supply Chain for developing inventory strategies on existing items, new products, and product transitions.
  • Maintain metrics/KPI's including forecast accuracy and bias
  • Other duties/projects as assigned
Job Requirements:
  • 2+ years of related professional experience in demand, supply, inventory, or other relevant Supply Chain function
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, Mathematics, or relevant field
Skills:
  • Excellent communication (oral & written) skills
  • Strong analytics
  • Strong organizational skills
  • High customer focus with an ability to drive for results
  • Develop collaborative and diverse relationships
  • Ability to understand, assess, and problem solve
  • Proficient PC skills (Microsoft Suite - especially Excel)
  • Familiar with ERP systems and their Demand Planning environments (SAP-APO, Logility, Demantra, etc.)
