PPG’s Protective and Marine Coatings (PMC) manufacturing facility in Little Rock, AR is now hiring an EHS Manager. The EHS Manager acts as an advisor and is responsible for the direction and guidance of the Environment, Health & Safety programs for PMC USCA manufacturing site, warehouse, distribution center, field associates, and contractor safety programs.
 
Other responsibilities include:
  • Provide leadership and direction for EHS Training; develop and implement EHS policies and programs while facilitating consensus.
  • Analyzes the business impact of existing and new regulatory requirements in North America, and provides inputs to the SBU EHS Director.
  • Plans, organize, schedules, facilitates, and participates on EHS Leadership Team for PMC Plant and PMC Field and Sales.
  • Has primary accountability for driving network standardization for life critical Health and Safety programs and procedures.
  • Provide oversight and completion for the site’s industrial hygiene program, coordination for PMC goals, metrics and reporting.
  • Provides incident and injury investigation, incident reporting management (Cority), and case management direction and oversight to PMC USCA.
  • Provides oversight and coordination for site’s MOC program to ensure proper entry, completion and implementation.
  • Evaluate the EHS Impacts of capital projects and assure EHS risk assessments are completed.
  • Plan, organize, schedule, facilitate site Ergonomics.
  • Serves as the liaison with the Corporate EHS department as necessary.
  • Ensures effective and efficient SBU implementation of PPG EHS Requirements and network standards across the PMC and other SBUs.
  • Provide oversight, audit readiness and guidance for compliance audits and corrective action management.
  • Initiates and manages specific EHS projects at the request of executive, business, or functional management.
  • Manage the site’s hazardous waste management program and reporting as well as the site’s environmental program to include: SWPPP, Air Permitting, SPCC, Waste and Waste Water and reporting requirements.
  • Direct insurance carrier (FM Global) risk management for Loss Prevention.
  • Conceives, develops, and manages solutions to complex health, safety & environmental situations, using legally or professionally accepted techniques, procedures, or methods.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • B.S. in Safety Science, Environmental Science, Engineering, or closely related fields.
  • Minimum 5 Years’ of relevant experience.
  • Must possess a strong understanding of OSHA, ANSI, ACGIH, EPA and NFPA standards.
  • Must be able to use judgment, health, safety & environmental knowledge and experience to develop and make decisions at the leadership level. 
  • Knowledge of environmental permitting requirements.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Ability to effectively manage projects, and interact with executives, management, professional staff, consultants, contractors, and site personnel. 
  • Must be able to read, write, and communicate effectively in technical and regulatory language and terminology associated with health, safety & environmental issues. 
  • Must be computer literate and able to use common software packages, such as MS Office and Internet web browsers, as well as specialized EHS software, and web based programs.
  • Experience with PSM (Process Safety Management) facility preferred.
