A Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Engineering or related Science.
3+ years’ experience in the EHS field, preferred manufacturing or chemical setting.
Strong knowledge of safety and environmental regulations and consensus standards (OSHA, EPA, DOT, NIOSH, ANSI, NFPA, Workers’ Compensation), inspection procedures, audits, hazard reviews, incident prevention, incident investigation techniques, and safety and environmental education and training.
Must possess strong problem solving skills and be able to manage programs.
Strong communication, consulting, coaching and leadership skills; effective advisor to management and employees across a variety of issues.
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
Ability to manage multiple projects and meet necessary deadlines.
Proficiency in the use of computers with knowledge of MS office products including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
Expert in change management and building a safety culture through influence and engagement.
Must be a persistent self-starter who can work effectively and lead others with minimum oversight.
Incumbent must be able to work effectively with all levels the organization and with individuals outside of the company.
Basic understanding of key business metrics, key drivers, business vision, and manufacturing processes/challenges as applicable.
TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT USED:
Position requires frequent use of a personal computer (Microsoft Office Suite), digital camera, calculator, telephone, and copy machine.
Requires the routine use of safety and health monitoring equipment to include, but not limited to:
Air monitoring equipment (confined space entry/hot work)
Ventilation monitoring equipment
Industrial Hygiene monitoring equipment
Audiometric dosimeter (noise level meter)
