The Engineering Maintenance Manager is responsible for the Maintenance Department and project engineering activities at the Temple Manufacturing Facility.
 
Key responsibilities include:
  • Provide a safe and healthy work environment for all plant employees through proper maintenance of equipment and facilities. Maintain relentless focus on elimination of health hazards and promote safe work behaviors and processes that can lead to prevent work stoppage and time loss due to accidents.
  • Ensure that each Maintenance Department subordinate understands and adheres to all company policies and procedures regarding safety, health and the environment and that the proper training programs are in place to ensure that all applicable standards are met.
  • Manage and promote a high-performing Maintenance Support function for the Temple Manufacturing Plant. As a key Site Staff Member promote and mentor plant employees to continuously live the PPG way.
  • Effectively manage associates, encouraging a continuous improvement of individual performance and teamwork engagement. Comply with all EEO policies and procedures
  • Cultivate strong, productive work relationships and actively participate with other members of the Plant Leadership Team to strengthen the overall efficiencies/effectiveness of the Manufacturing Operation.
  • Efficiently develop, engage and utilize people, equipment, materials, utilities and budget to meet SBU/Plant requirements for safety, environment, efficiency, quality, labor and expense.
  • Balance Maintenance and Engineering resources to assure proper support to operations and facilities during operating hours as well as applicable nonoperational times.
  • In cooperation with local staff, plan, organize and manage the engineering and installation of specific capital improvements and projects to meet business needs in growth, maintaining existing capacity and/ or improve site position in safety, compliance, cost and quality. 
  • The incumbent acts as the Process Safety Management (PSM) coordinator for the site.  The objective of this role is to oversee the correct implementation of a chemical process safety management program at the facility. They are responsible for developing PSM training programs that meet the criteria of the standard for operations, maintenance and management personnel. The incumbent is responsible for ensuring that all area of the PSM program are up-to-date and that the facility is in compliance with US OSHA 1910.119 as well as PPG’s requirements regarding PSM. Incumbent may also be asked to support the PPG PSM Global Strategy and Development.
 

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical or related Engineering field.
  • Minimum 5 years of engineering project management and/or maintenance management experience in a manufacturing environment with typical unit operations in the consumer product industry (mixing, packaging, facilities infrastructure, utilities). 
  • Minimum 3 years of supervisory experience required.
  • Previous Process Safety Management (PSM) experience required 
  • Periodic travel to other PPG locations or vendors as required Experience with Maintenance Management Systems, Micromain preferred.
  • Microsoft Office proficiency with Excel, PowerPoint, Word
Preferred Qualifications:
  • PE certification preferred
  • Have the ability to handle multiple projects at one time.
  • Possess excellent communication skills
  • CPI – continuous improvement exposure
