Global APA Project & Market Manager, APA

The incumbent serves as the Global Project & Market Manager for any key APA business initiatives that can include, but is not limited to, Approval tracking, LRT tracking, Pipeline tracking, Specification Management, managing the market OEM/Tier maps, APA market intelligence and roadmaps . He/she will be a critical member of the IC APA group and will report to the Global Business Director, APA.  He/she will be located in Troy, MI.   The Global Approval & Market Manager will be responsible for managing several projects which will entail working with a cross-functional team, setting and monitoring timelines, identifying and minimizing risks, communicating and presenting progress reports to ensure that each initiative delivers all business objectives and benefits.


The incumbent will be responsible for ensuring that a cross functional team with representation from all key areas and stakeholders is organized.  The incumbent will also be responsible for interactions with key personnel including Segment, Sales, Technical, and Product Management  as well as support groups to ensure collaborative understanding and for gaining the support needed for the success of the projects.   The Global Project & Market Manager should use appropriate processes and systems to ensure good coordination and communication of projects. 


He/she serves as owner of all projects (and others as assigned) and is the key link to the Management team.  This involves assembling and presenting data to the Management team to ensure they are current on the projects’ status and risks.  This will require strong communication, prioritization and coordination skills.  

Major Accountabilities:
  • Owns the approval tracking, working with regional labs around the globe to set and monitor progress

  • Compiles and tracks global LRTs and Pipeline for the global team

  • Owns and updates APA approval database
  • Owns and updates the specification database

  • Owns and updates the APA SharePoint site

  • Works with team to develop & update Regional OEM & Tier Mapping project

  • Works with team to develop heat maps to identify gaps in product offering

  • Works with team to compile and update 5 Year APA Roadmap for each Region - aligned with product roadmaps

  • Collects and distributes Market research & intelligence  

  • Assists the APA team & Marcom in building sales collateral to help support the direct APA team as well as regional commercial teams

Experience and Education
  • Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 3 - 5 years of experience in one of the following: technical, project/product management, engineering, finance, marketing.

  • Strong project management skills, including defining, organizing, planning and executing projects from vision through implementation; ability to lead and effectively participate in teams

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with an ability to express complex technical concepts in audience appropriate terms

  • Ability to work without close supervision and remain focused on short and long-term objectives

  • Ability to manage competing priorities and strong analytical skills for identifying and solving problems are essential.
