Global Resin Supply Chain Director, Industrial Segment

PPG is currently hiring for a seasoned executive leader to join our Industrial Segment team as the Global Resin Supply Chain Director. This position is responsible to drive results in the Resin Supply Chain through application of sound supply chain principles and processes.  This position will drive high supply service levels to the internal and external customers while balancing working capital and cost objectives.  An important function that this position will be accountable for is optimizing the sourcing or resins across 16+ resin manufacturing sites globally to optimize lowest total delivered cost.  The Global Resin Supply Chain Director is responsible for developing and maintaining a balanced scorecard / set of KPIs to understand supply chain performance to drive corrective actions and process improvements to deliver results.  In this position, the incumbent will work on a regular basis with the Regional Resin Supply Chain Managers, the Regional Resin Operations Managers, the Global Supply Chain Director, and the Regional Supply Chain Directors.

Key responsibilities include:
  • You will stay abreast of the activities and direction that the Paint Plant Supply Chain team is taking and provide inputs and knowledge to help the total organization produce best in class processes for the segment.
  • You will provide direction to the regional resin supply managers to establish standard work and best practices within the resin community.
  • You will lead Resin BSR (business strategy report) information creation process in alignment with the resin supply chain strategy across all BUs.
  • You will lead the implementation of S&OP, driving sourcing, execute LEAN and continuous improvements, and provide a standardization of work and best practices across all BUs.
  • BS/BA in Operations, Supply Chain, Logistics, Engineering or related field.
  • APICS certification is highly desirable but can be attained while in this role.
  • At least 10 years’ experience working in the Chemical Industry in a Supply Chain Leadership role, with demonstrated success is a requirement to be successful in this role.

Success Factors/Functional Competencies:

  • A high proficiency for advanced analytics and statistical evaluation.
  • An understanding of supply chain ERP systems.
  • Successful candidate should be comfortable working in a matrix organization and getting results through sound decision making and good judgement.
  • Candidate must be able to manage a team of managers that are globally located.
  • Proven track record of managing projects and driving change using data analytics.
  • Proven self-motivated driver to bring initiatives to closure.
  • Highly developed written and oral communication skills and comfortable giving presentations.
  • Candidate should have a strong bent for action and an ability to create and implement action plans to drive performance improvement.
  • Candidate must demonstrate a high degree of attention to detail and managing complexity.
  • Candidate will need to work collaboratively with all business units and corporate functions.
  • Candidate will must have flexibility to for international travel- up to 25% (Europe, Asia and Americas).
