PPG is currently hiring for a seasoned executive leader to join our Industrial Segment team as the Global Manager, Supply Chain Center of Excellence. The Global Manager (SC CoE) is responsible to drive results in the Supply Chain through development and implementation of supply chain best practices and standard work across all manufacturing sites in the Industrial Segment globally.  This position will be the primary interface for the Industrial Segment to the IT organization and the Global Business Services group to ensure alignment and support for the Industrial Segment.  This position will also interface with the external supply chain organizations and industry organizations to understand leading practices for consideration and application within our business segment.  The Global Manager, SC CoE will work directly with the plants and the Regional Supply Chain Managers in the Industrial Segment to understand needs and current state, assess gaps, and make recommendations for implementation of best practice standard work.


This position will work with internal industrial segment resources as well as external resources (PPG IT, PPG GBS, and others) for process definition and implementation of best practice.  This position must have the ability to lead a team of people to support ERP implementations or projects, at times when the workload warrants.

Requires:
  • BS/BA in Operations, Supply Chain, Logistics, Engineering or related field.
  • APICS certification is highly desirable but can be attained while in this role.
  • This position requires a broad and deep understanding of supply chain systems and processes along with 15 or more years’ of experience in various supply chain planning and execution positions (in a plant, scheduler, planner, etc.).
  • Prior experience with ERP implementations and process design is a requirement.

  • This position requires a strong bent for action and decision making with sound judgement and logic.
  • This position must be able to influence others without positional authority to deliver best in class for ONE PPG.
  • Proven track record of managing projects and driving change using good project management and/or lean six sigma methodologies to deliver ideal states, improved processes, and sound ERP solutions.
  • Candidate must demonstrate a high degree of attention to detail and managing complexity.
  • Candidate will need to work collaboratively with all regions and corporate functions.
  • Highly developed written and oral communication skills and comfortable giving presentations.
