Manager Resin & Ecoat Operations

The Manager Resin & Ecoat Operations is accountable for directing the manufacture and distribution of Refinish resins (R1/R2), Automotive resins (R3) and Electrocoat blending in accordance with established criteria of safety, cost, performance, quality and timely delivery.  The role is a critical leadership team position in the Delaware facility representing both Resin and Ecoat across approximately 60 employees and manages daily operations, QA, PSM and initiatives for the Refinish, Automotive and Resin business units. Optimal use of equipment, process consistency and managing resources to fulfill and exceed customer expectations are principle responsibilities of this position. 

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Manufacture and deliver quality refinish, automotive resin within the reactor systems, safely, on time, cost effectively and within resin guidelines.  The incumbent is responsible for departmental compliance with all Federal, state and PPG policies and procedures concerning environmental, safety, health and quality standards.
  • Manage a clean, safe, cost efficient production organization that is committed to a high level of first run capability and is responsive to changes in the marketplace. The incumbent has a key role for engagement within the organization to drive performance and quality and maintains a key role in Labor Relations within the areas.
  • Develop and implement new or improved production and distribution processes and procedures to optimize productivity including projects across Refinish, Automotive and Resin business units. The incumbent evaluates equipment, facility and process needs and prepares capital authorizations to meet current and future needs.
  • Provide responsive leadership and take appropriate steps to insure compliance with all state and Federal regulations and PPG policies as they relate to health, safety, environmental protection and equal employment opportunity.  Member of the plant Leadership Team and looked to work across groups for best practice for plant performance.
  • Develop and maintain, training and participative management, a work force that is highly skilled, motivated and committed to organizational objectives. Effective utilization of manpower at the Delaware Plant requires a thorough understanding of the Labor Agreement and handling needed concerns.
  • Provide assistance and work with Automotive Electrocoat manufacturing locations to ensure product uniformity, compliance with established manufacturing and quality assurance practices and procedures.  The incumbent may also provide consulting to the other North American cationic resin and paste production facilities (Torrance, Oak Creek, Clarkson, Circleville, Mexico and Cleveland) in the areas of technical assistance, testing procedures, process procedures, quality assurance, etc., to insure adequate transfer of cationic resin and paste developments.  This service is also provided to the European facilities, upon their request.
  • Through knowledge of resin chemistry, PSM compliance, mechanical integrity through alignment with Resin business for safe and consistent operational excellence.


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Chemistry is required and advanced degree, as MBA, desired.
  • 5 years in Resin Operations, Chemistry or equal Technical experience preferred.
  • 5 years of Supervision and demonstrated ability to manage process and people preferred.
  • Electrocoat blending experience is advantage in the role.
