Process Analytical Technology Engineer

The Process Engineer is responsible for providing engineering support to the day to day operations of the PAT lab.


The Engineer will have several responsibilities:

  • Providing engineering support to the day to day operations of the PAT lab by installing/maintaining in-line analytical instruments, troubleshooting that equipment (if necessary) and ensuring proper operation of the instruments.
  • Working on new process or product development as requested by R&D using the instruments and, if successful, transferring it to a PPG manufacturing location
  • Troubleshooting and providing technical assistance for product and process improvement projects as requested by R&D/SBU. Projects may be one day to several months long depending on the request. 
  • The individual will need to be able to multitask and organize their day to day activities with the project target dates in mind.

  • 1–3 years’ professional experience as a process engineer
  • Minimum of a BS Degree in Chemical Engineering required, Advanced degree in Chemistry preferred.
  • Ability to apply basic engineering, troubleshooting, mechanical and chemistry skills
  • The understanding of basic process safety management (PSM) concepts will be needed to ensure experiments are vetted and equipment is set up properly.
