Product Development Chemist

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry, Polymer Science or Chemical Engineering required. Master’s Degree in Chemistry, Polymer Science or Chemical Engineering preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience required.
• Knowledgeable of low-VOC latex and alkyd coatings technology and third-party certification test methods and procedures strongly desired.
• Performs independently by planning and executing specific phases of a project, subject to direction of leadership.
• Develops understanding of fundamental principles and root cause analysis. Uses these principles to design experiments and business process improvement tools that effectively lead to problem solving.
• Provides direct support to field technical problems; travel as needed.
• Able to search and interpret literature and is cognizant of competitor technology and intellectual property.
• Successful candidate must also have excellent oral, written, and interpersonal skills in order to communicate with external customers and internal business partners; generate written reports; and make technical presentations.
