Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelors Degree in Chemistry, Polymer Science or Chemical Engineering required. Master’s Degree in Chemistry, Polymer Science or Chemical Engineering preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience required.
- Knowledgeable of protective and marine coatings technology and scientific test methods required.
Functional and Technical Skills
- Performs independently by planning and executing specific phases of a project, subject to direction of senior personnel.
- Develops understanding of fundamental principles and root cause analysis. Uses these principles to design experiments and business process improvement tools that effectively lead to problem solving.
- Provides direct support to field technical problems; travel as needed.
- Able to search and interpret literature and is cognizant of competitor technology and intellectual property.
- Follows through on mutually agreed upon ideas and goals..
- Successful candidate must also have excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills in order to deal effectively with external customers and internal personnel; generate written reports; and make technical presentations.
