Production Planning Manager - APICS

The Production Planning Manager will lead the Cleveland Automotive OEM Supply Planning team. This position maintains all critical metrics related to batch scheduling/planning (schedule attainment, Critical shipments, OTIF...) and is accountable to generate plans to meet Customer needs, maintain plant efficiency, and maintain the production schedule. Will assure a high level of service to PPG’s customers while providing lead analysis for the Supply Chain team and managing site SIOP: MPS, PSO, and Execution.

In this position, you will work on a regular basis with the Cleveland Plant Manager, Production, Commercial Leadership, Quality, Technical, Purchasing, and other plant-based planning teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Run Master Production Schedule, implement to the plan.
  • Coordinate and track production Sign-Off process.
  • SIOP Reporting (Compliance, Root Cause Investigation, etc…)
  • Capacity Analysis
  • Manage schedules and harmonize when there is a resource conflict.
  • Lead and maintain continuous improvement activities to improve supply chain performance.
  • Complete DMAIC and PDCA projects
  • This is a position that requires both leadership and functional engagement, to develop high levels of skill in all appropriate tools, act as a trainer, and as a backup when team members are out of the office.


  • BS/BA in Operations, Supply Chain, Logistics, Engineering or related field.
  • 5+ yrs’ experience in Supply Chain and 3+ yrs' master planning or scheduling experience.
  • APICS/ASCM certification or similar such as CPIM, CSCP, SCWC, CLTD, SCOR-P is highly desirable.
  • Lean Six Sigma Green/Yellow Belt Certification is desirable
  • Basic Data Analysis of data, reports, with the goal of removing bottlenecks and improving efficiency
  • Ability to optimally communicate with peers, develop action plans based in root cause analysis and lead and develop exceptional teams is key.
  • Proven self-motivated driver to bring initiatives to closure.
  • Ability to build and implement action plans to drive performance improvement.
  • Strong attention to detail and leading complexity.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with all business units and corporate functions.
