Quality Control Technician, Entry
As a Quality Technician, you will perform laboratory tests to determine chemical and physical characteristics or composition of in-process batches, raw materials, and finished products for such purposes as quality control, process control, or product development.
Key Responsibilities
- Verify formula and component specifications on batch tickets.
- Set up, adjusts, calibrates, and operate laboratory equipment and instruments such paint guns, mixers, viscometers, chemical balances, pH meters, gloss meters, solids analyzer, spectrophotometer, and other equipment.
- Test samples of manufactured products to verify conformity to specifications.
- Record test results on batch tickets and in company’s computer operating system.
- Manage quality records and retains of production batches.
- Evaluate retains of production batches in response to quality complaints.
- Conduct incoming raw materials testing, ensuring conformance to required specifications.
- Perform routine production quality checks to ensure finished products are filled and packaged according to specifications.
- Perform occasional quality audits of laboratory and production work instructions to ensure compliance with the company’s Quality Policy.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor’s degree in a technical or engineering field preferred.
- Inspection, test, and product evaluation experience
- General knowledge of Lean Manufacturing / Six Sigma methodologies preferred.
- Ability to clearly identify and communicate issues that need to be addressed and to take the necessary steps to avoid future errors.
