Quality Inspector

Strong working knowledge/skills using the following precision measurement:

• Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook and ability to type accurately
• Working knowledge of CAD systems (e.g., AutoCAD, Catia)
• Strong communication and math skills.
• The individual may be required to sit or stand for up to multiple hours using their hands to handle objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear around machinery.
• The individual must be capable of lifting and moving up to 10 pounds; frequently lift and move up to 30 pounds.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus on optical devices. Use of microscopes, magnifiers, and optical comparators will be expected.
• Tolerance of a manufacturing environment. (e.g. Individuals may work near moving mechanical parts of machinery and electrically activated devices. Individuals are occasionally exposed to airborne particles.)
• Ability to read and write English
• Read and interpret manufacturing instructions.
• Organized and pay close attention to detail
• Must have good hand dexterity and ability to have steady hands when working on extremely detailed, sensitive projects
• Must have ability to operate and accurately read measuring equipment such as micrometers, calipers, scales, optical comparator, and electrical testing equipment.
• Must have ability to read and interpret CAD drawings
• Must be able to understand and follow ISO processes
• Must be willing to take on new assignments/job tasks as the work/department expands
• Must work well with others and respect coworkers
• Must be able to attend work free from illegal drugs, alcohol, or drugs that would impair one’s ability to work safely around dangerous, moving equipment

• Bachelor’s degree in science or engineering is preferred
• Previous inspection experience preferred
• Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt experience preferred
• Experience working in ISO 9001 or AS9100 regulated industry such as Medical, Automotive, or Aerospace.
• ASQ Certification
