Job Function:


Designs and develops new aerospace structural adhesives and sealants products in an individual contributor role. The candidate is expected to drive structural adhesives and sealants product development from the product profile/conception stage through scale up and qualification, undertake technology scouting and research activities that will drive development of state of the art materials, and assist with troubleshooting existing products in a timely manner. The incumbent will spend substantial time in hands-on adhesives and sealants formulation and testing efforts, keep abreast of relevant patent and technical literature, give technical presentations and write detailed technical reports.

 

Requires:


B.S. or higher degree with focus on or background in Materials Chemistry, Polymer Chemistry or Organic Chemistry is required.

A minimum of 7 years’ experience with hands on formulating and testing of adhesives based on epoxies, urethanes, ureas, or other polymeric materials, and successful commercialization of adhesives products is required.

The successful candidate will possess a practical results oriented mindset and passion for laboratory formulation work.

Must be able to quickly grasp new technologies, communicate effectively with all levels of the organization, and have good interpersonal skills in working with technical and non-technical personnel.

Must be a systematic thinker and worker, good communicator, adept at writing detailed technical reports, and possess the ability to multi-task and work on several projects at the same time.
