The Sr. Cash Analyst works at the direction of the Cash Supervisor. Serves as the main point of contact for approximately 260 Canada retail stores, which includes setting-up bank accounts & credit card merchant IDs, ordering supplies for new stores, and responding to calls and emails to address questions and issues encountered by stores associates.

 

Sr. Cash Analysts and other members of the cash desk form a vital part of the Finance team’s management of the cash process.  This process ensures that sales result in cash collected from depository institutions and credit card processors; that stores comply with PPG policy; and that issues are investigated and resolved in a timely manner.  


Other responsibilities include:

  • Daily matching of Point-of-Sale (POS) book data to bank funding using account reconciliation software (T-Recs), including investigating and resolving discrepancies. 

  • Tracking suspicious and/or unusual transactions and shares findings with PPG loss prevention team. 

  • Preparing and posting journal entries. 

  • Reconciling monthly bank statements to SAP and performing monthly account analyses for cash and other balance sheet accounts. 

  • Other special projects as directed by the cash supervisor and/or Accounting Manager.

  • Responding to inquiries daily from both internal and external customers. 

  • Requires bi-lingual speaking & writing skills (English & French).
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business or related field, with 3-5 years of experience required.
  • Accounting experience with journal entries and bank reconciliations and knowledge of cash collection and application.

  • Aptitude for numerical detail and an ability to work accurately and efficiently under the pressure of heavy workloads to meet tight schedules.

  • Proficiency with SAP and Microsoft Office tools

  • Daily interaction with all levels of our internal and external customers necessitates good interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Some overtime may be required during peak periods.

Time away from the office during closings will be granted only for emergencies.
