The Sr. IT Auditor and SOX Lead is responsible for effective execution of a wide range of general internal audits and Sarbanes-Oxley audits throughout PPG. Scope of work would cover domestic and international entities throughout PPG’s global IT environment.  In addition, position would be responsible for all SOX IT Audits for the IT audit team.

 

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for developing the initial audit scope and assumes full on-the-job responsibility for satisfactory completion of assigned audit tasks. This includes 1) performing audit testing, 2) identifying, analyzing, and documenting accounting and control deficiencies and 3) recommending cost effective solutions where appropriate, 4) communicating audit findings and recommendations, and 5) advancing personal self-development through appropriate training activities.

  • Responsible for keeping audit management informed of progress and difficulties encountered on a timely basis.

  • Responsible for providing and receiving feedback on completion of tasks and discussions of possible conclusions.

  • Responsible for conducting opening and closing meetings, writing clear and effective audit reports, and communicating issues to management verbally and in writing.

  • Responsible for the completion of the IT SOX audits globally including the coordination with the PwC external auditors and communication to upward management.

  • Responsible for the global IT SOX trainings

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 5+ years of previous Sarbanes Oxley 404 audit experience is required
  • A bachelor’s degree in IT, accounting, finance or related field of study is required.

  • Ability to travel to 30%

  • Sound Audit proficiency in order to evaluate the adequacy of controls and procedures. Must understand and apply auditing theories, procedures, and techniques and be able to analyze relevant information to reach conclusions.

  • Effective writing skills are required to clearly and concisely communicate audit findings. 

  • Ability to train others by sharing knowledge and experience.

  • CISA, CPA, CIA, or other related audit/ financial certifications preferred, but not required.
