PPG is currently in search of a Senior Marketing Manager to join our Architectural Coatings USCA business. This role will report to The Director of Marketing & be based out of Cranberry Township, PA.

 
Job Summary:
 

The Senior Marketing Manager will lead a team in the creation and deployment of brand and customer marketing strategies for core brands in PPG’s Architectural Coatings USCA business. This individual will be a key contributor in refining our go-to market approach and enhancing our brand position across key retail customers and trade channels. They will be responsible for the development of brand building marketing campaigns and customer experience strategies in and out of store, in addition to implementing various merchandising, promotional and selling initiatives supporting our field and end use customers. The successful candidate must be able to identify consumer, category and customer insights and leverage those insights to define the brand and channel strategy. They must have strong collaboration, influence and leadership skills and be able to interface and align with key stakeholders to ensure delivery and execution of the initiatives.

 

The desired candidate is a well-rounded marketing professional with experiences in branding, media and promotion, product management, customer experience, agency management, digital, retail and strategic leadership.  Candidates should have a strong track record of end-to-end execution of marketing campaigns with proven results.

 

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Planning: Development of actionable annual and ongoing brand strategies that drive sales and share across the portfolio based on consumer insights, category trends, competitive environment and business needs.
  • Brand Management: Development and execution of media creative, packaging, merchandising and supporting materials that adhere to the brand equity and support the portfolio.  Lead product/service branding, positioning and launch execution to ensure branded elements are in line with strategy and brand guidelines.
  • Budgeting: Responsible for budget forecast and strategic plan that synthesizes sources of funding, growth projections and cost estimates aligned to brand strategy. Manage all aspects of the yearly budget to include ongoing tracking of spend, future commitments and budget availability while maximizing ROI.
  • Execution/Project Management: Work cross functionally through all levels of the organization to execute top and bottom line strategic initiatives. Management of the development, production and implementation of marketing plans, communications tactics and field team activation. Develop sales impact plans and track against key KPIs to ensure success of individual programs and brand plans.
  • Account Partnership: Interface, influence and drive alignment with account and customer marketing teams to implement account and customer co-marketing strategies to drive equity and preference for the brands at key retail partners and outlets.
  • Agency Management (Advertising, Packaging, Media and PR): Management of strategic and day-to-day agency interactions to ensure communications efforts are aligned with brand strategy and positioning.  Lead the agency in developing and optimizing the media strategy to maximize ROIs and meet brand objectives.
  • Communication/Collaboration: Interfacing, influencing and driving alignment with PPG management team, Marketing and Product leadership, Sales teams, Account partners and other cross functional teams to ensure delivery/execution of plans and alignment to overarching business and channel strategies.
  • Leadership:  Manage, lead and develop a team of 5 direct reports. 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Sales or related technical field are required
  • Minimum of ­­­7 years Marketing experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced Degree or MBA is preferred
  • Fluency in the Spanish language is a plus.
  • customer focused, data driven and results oriented
  • Candidate must have strong cross-functional leadership, thorough marketing knowledge, excellent analytical and project management skills, and be able to manage multiple projects at one time
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively across the organization and with customers is required
  • They must have knowledge of the market place, the ability to think strategically and strong business acumen.
