PPG is currently in search of a Warehouse Supervisor II-Night Shift to join our Architectural Coatings department. This role will report to the Sr. DC Manager & be based out of Toronto, Ontario.

 
Job Summary:
 The Warehouse Supervisor will oversee the night shift operations for our largest paint Distribution Center in Canada.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Provide a safe and healthy work environment for all employees through proper maintenance of equipment and facilities.
  • Ensure the elimination of health hazards to prevent work stoppage and time loss due to accidents, while ensuring adherence to all applicable environmental, health and safety regulations, standards and policies. 
  • Provide effective management processes to ensure safe work behavior by employees.
  • Supervise the warehouse team.  Ensures each associate understands and adheres to all company policies and procedures regarding safety, health and the environment and that the proper training programs are in place to ensure that all applicable standards are met including total compliance with all DC Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Manage associates, encouraging a continuous improvement of individual performance, that the goals for the DC are met or exceeded, and that we meet or exceed all service, quality, and cost control requirements.
  • Assist in the facilitation of regular team meetings to enhance the communications between shifts and teams. 
  • Ensure that the all members of the shift meet all training requirements per PPG policy, procedures and the EH&S annual training matrix.
  • Track productivity (Picking Rate) by shift associates.
  • Ensure that daily/weekly time reporting requirements are met. Review and approve in Kronos pay system.
  • Ability to work in a fast pace D.C. environment with a high degree of speed and accuracy utilizing SAP and scanning gun technologies
  • Flexible work schedule to work overtime, weekends and holidays as required
  • Ability to work with all levels of management, internal and external to PPG, customer and vendors.
  • Support Employee Engagement, and 5S processes and continuous improvement.
  • Ability to take on project and other duties as required.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree is preferred but not required
  • Distribution or manufacturing work experience
  • Must be familiar with operations of powered forklift equipment. 
  • Possess strong leadership skills and be able to work independently, with limited support, on the night shift
  • Strong judgment, decision-making, written & verbal communication skills are required.
  • Strong computer skills, WHMS, R/F (software environment). Microsoft Excel & Office at a minimum.
  • Strong knowledge of SAP or warehouse management systems, knowledge of TDG, and shipping operations are considered an asset.
