PPG is currently in search of a Credit Back Office Specialist to join our Corporate Finance team in Pittsburgh, PA.

Job Summary:

The Credit Back Office Specialist will be a member of the Accounts Receivable department reporting to the Credit Back Office Supervisor. The core function of this role provides a wide range of Credit and Cash Application Support. This support is critical to ensuring that PPG assets are protected by monitoring customer credit risk and guaranteeing that payments are received and posted timely.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Key Credit Back Office operations – support during the new customer setup, order release management, credit limit reviews and reporting
  • Prepare credit approval packages, annual reviews, renewals of credit, credit proposals and coordination of document preparation and closings
  • Assist on obtaining remittance/payment information from customers with an eye towards identifying solutions to improve cash application processes
  • Support IRecevables/E-Billing function/system (new user setup, password resets, error resolution, credit memos and customer queries)                 
  • Communication with internal (local credit teams, treasury, general ledger, accounts receivables and payables) and external customers to ensure smooth & effective operation
  • Address cash application issues/concerns related to existing/new Supply Chain Finance programs
  • Answer accounts receivable calls received through the PPG Switchboard
  • Maintenance of the document’s storage
  • Participate in process improvement projects and support other management directives as prescribed
  • Assist in business process improvement and transitions

Minimum Qualifications:

  • HS Diploma with a minimum of 2 years’ experience in customer service, accounting, cash application and/or credit and collections required OR a Bachelor’s degree with no minimum years of experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Advanced Degree
  • 3 years’ experience in accounting, cash application and/or credit and collections required
  • PC skills (MS Office, MS Access, Oracle/SAP system experience an advantage)
  • A strong team player with the ability to learn and work alone when necessary
  • Demonstrated Effective Customer Service and Communication Skills
