Position Description

- Business
The Project Manager is accountable for a delivering business result for their projects. They are the primary owner of the project and its commitments (timeline, resources and deliverables) to the various stakeholders. They are responsible for clarifying, maintaining, and delivering the scope of the project. Project Leaders secure and indirectly manage the functional resources on the project. They contribute to the achievement of business objectives by driving projects to deliver business results and/or driving decisions to terminate projects so that resources may be invested elsewhere. Commitment to owning the delivery of business impact through driving execution and facilitating strong business decisions is essential to success in this role. 

- Technical
The Project Manager must have experience project management and project management tools. Development and execution of integrated project plans, which specify project goals, deliverables, schedule, risks, contingencies planning, and resources are essential. Effective monitoring and communication of project status, plans and timelines is also critical. They must ensure that the team members adheres to internal standards, established methodologies and procedures for project reporting, design, development and documentation. This specific Project Leadership role requires a knowledge of commonly used and emerging concepts, practices, and procedures for the product development life cycle from ideation to commercialization, including stage-gate. Project management expertise in contexts outside of new product development and commercialization is a plus, but not required. Coating expertise is a plus, but not required. In sufficient knowledge of coatings and coating technology will require intensive study during onboarding, so those without this knowledge must have skills and desire to learn it.

- Interpersonal
The Project Leader must be organized, articulate, detail-oriented and proactive. The Project Leader must be comfortable leading, delegating, and influencing within a team structure. A successful leader must effectively interact with stakeholders and team members at all levels of the organization. The global nature of the role requires the Project Leader be comfortable communicating remotely, and interacting across cultures and time zones.

Requirements:
 
Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 3-5-years of experience in technical, project management, engineering or operations.
Strong project management skills, including defining, organizing, planning and executing projects from vision through implementation.
Ability to lead and effectively participate in teams; strong verbal and written communication skills, with an ability to express complex technical concepts in audience appropriate terms.
Ability to work without close supervision and remain focused on short and long-term objectives.Ability to manage competing priorities and strong analytical skills for identifying and solving problems are essential.
