As the Regional Director, USCA North, this role will be responsible for assuring the Coating Services plants are meeting their objectives and goals towards sales growth, budgets, and scorecard metrics as well as overseeing the development of long term planning for capacity needs, technology needs and organizational needs.  The Director is accountable for the development of facilities and ensuring they have direction and focus and are abiding by company policies and procedures whether it is HR, Safety, Environmental, Technology, Quality, Production, etc.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Visiting with plants specific sites to review plant status towards meeting the goals and objectives of sales growth, budgets, and metrics.  Work with those plants on developing actions plans, direction and focus towards those goals.  
  • Reviewing and responding to Customer and supplier communication or inquires. Weekly communication meetings through the region or corporate operations team.
  • Preparation of spreadsheets, action plans, presentations, and reviews.
  • Engage and foster strong relationships with customers and suppliers with constant communication and frequent meetings.
  • Reviewing data and outputs to plants specific measurable relating to sales growth, budgets, and metrics and presenting as such.
  • Influence the behavior of others using their individual credibility and expertise
  • Create a mentoring atmosphere where the leaders that they are working with look to them for guidance and as a conduit to the corporate resources and expertise that are available to them.
  • Act a Business Process expert in PPG’s Coatings services global business processes, including but are not limited to: P/L’s, FIN, MITS, CIMS, MetoQuote, etc.
  • Perform audits at any facility with regard to the effective use of PPG’s global business processes.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field is required
  • Prior experience within the automotive industry
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience with at least 5 years of regional management experience required
  • Strong supervisory experience required
  • Proven ability to build and foster strong relationships with customers
  • Lean, 5S and Problem solving skills
  • Ability to travel up to 70% (locations include Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Michigan and Canada)
