PPG is seeking a highly motivated, energetic and creative Sr. Communications Specialist to support PPG’s automotive coatings business and corporate communications business. As a member of this team, you will work in a fast-paced environment with leaders from across PPG, and with members of PPG’s communications, marketing, community and product management teams.

 

The right candidate will be eager to expand their professional experience and skill set with hands-on experience working with an integrated group of professionals.


Main Accountabilities:

Under supervision and in close collaboration with the Manager, Marketing Strategy, the Sr. Communications Specialist will provide support for PPG Automotive communications, including:

  • Working closely with the automotive, product management, marketing and communication teams to manage production of programs and projects that can launch across all communications channels.
  • Drive project timelines and approval processes.
  • Tracking, analyzing and presenting project timelines monthly.
  • Building and managing day-to-day relationships with key project owners and sharing relevant information in order to secure positive momentum for PPG.
  • Working closely with agency and marketing team to ensure alignment and execution of communications tactics.
  • Establishing PPG automotive products as innovative products and color leadership within the sales teams.
  • Proactively identifying new activities/ideas to engage contacts and streamline processes within the communications team and with agency partners.
  • Providing regular updates to internal stakeholders on all activities.
  • Supporting internal communications activities on an as-needed basis.
  • Coordinating translations of communications as appropriate.
  • Coordinating with freelancers as appropriate.
  • Assisting with special projects as needed.
  • Collaboration with colleagues across PPG’s global footprint on communications opportunities
  • Executive presentation development
  • Corporate communications materials development (collateral, websites, social content, etc.)
  • Manage vendor relationships
Minimum Requirements:
  • A Minimum 5-7 years of experience in marketing communications, advertising, corporate communications, public relations, media relations, brand marketing, or related field is required
  • A Bachelor’s degree in marketing, journalism, communications, public relations or a related discipline is required.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a detail-oriented, fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to connect and partner collaboratively at all levels within an organization and with internal clients.
  • Excellent planning, organization and project management skills.
  • Exceptional writing ability, analytical and persuasive skills, ability to multi-task effectively, and working knowledge of Associated Press style.
  • Thorough knowledge of business writing, editing and proofreading.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and execute time-sensitive and critical tasks.
  • Knowledge of office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and experience graphic design and video production software is a plus.
  • Self-motivated with a positive and professional approach to management.
Preferred Experience:
  • Experience in an advertising agency or a large, global organization is preferred.
  • A Master’s degree in Marketing Journalism, Communications, Public Relations, or a related discipline
  • 3-4 years of experience in a graphics art position.  You must have knowledge of MAC OS, Adobe Creative Suite CS6 (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), KeyNote, Numbers, Pages, IDVD, IMovie
